JD Logistics has launched its operations in the Kingdom after obtaining the necessary licenses from the Saudi Business Center.
The company chose Riyadh as its operations center due to the Kingdom's attractive business environment, along with the efforts of the E-Commerce Council and relevant government agencies during periodic meetings held with the company.
The launch ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Eiman Al-Mutairi, Vice Minister of Commerce and Supervisor General of the E-Commerce Council, alongside officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, the Ministry of Transport, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), the E-Commerce Council, the Chinese Embassy in Riyadh, and representatives from major Saudi and Chinese companies.
During the event, Ms. Wang Ying, Vice President of JD, confirmed that the company's operations will cover most regions of the Kingdom, offering high-quality delivery options, including last-mile services, cash-on-delivery (COD), and same-day delivery services, relying on a network of warehousing, transportation and sorting centers, and multiple delivery stations. She added that the company will implement automated systems while contributing to job creation in the logistics sector. It will also provide comprehensive, seamless, and efficient supply chain solutions to facilitate cross-border and domestic trade. These services will include address changes, temporary return storage, scheduled deliveries, reverse pickup, insurance coverage, cross-border shipping, customs clearance, and transportation within the Kingdom.
JD Logistics, one of the world's leading logistics solutions providers, aims to meet the growing demand from consumers in the Kingdom and the Middle East through its 8,000 square meter operations center in Riyadh, the first smart warehouse in the Middle East.
The Kingdom continues to attract a surge of international companies to conduct business amid growing interest in the promising opportunities available under Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes the development of the e-commerce ecosystem and its role in the Saudi economy; particularly as the Kingdom is among the top 10 fastest-growing countries in this field.
